Italian American Collectiveformerly IAOOHP (Italian American in Ohio Oral History Project)
Our Mission:
Italian American Collective (IAC) is an Oral History Project created and developed by the Italian faculty of the Department of French, Italian, and Classical Studies at Miami University, Ohio. This project represents an evolution of the Italian Americans in Ohio Oral History Project (IAOOHP) born in 2019; the aim is to record and preserve the memory of the Italian American experience through video and audio interviews of Italian Americans / Americans of Italian descent. Given the success of this initiative, we decided to broaden our project including interviews of Italian Americans in all of the United States. Italian American Collective also includes a section that collects documents such as letters, photographs, reproduction of drawings and paintings, diaries, and images of various artifacts. The project is intended as a scholarly and educational resource available to researchers and to the general public. The website also includes articles and news about Italian American culture, as well as links to institutions and other websites related to Italian American culture. If you are interested in contributing to the project, or if you have suggestions, please email fioretd@miamioh.edu.
If you are interested in sharing your story or if you want to contribute to the project, please contact us.
